Your voice is everything.
If you don't know your voice, you cannot make a difference. Discovering your voice is the very essence of being.
Nothing is more important in life than finding your voice. It carries you like a river carries a boat, and once you have found it, you can let it take you anywhere.
That's more or less how I began my first essay on Five Element Writing, which I wrote a little over a year ago. It was initially meant as the beginning of a book on writing, but it matured into the concept Five Element Writing the following year.
The thing is that along the way I remembered what drove me to writing in the first place as a young man. It wasn't publishing. It was understanding.
Looking back I have always written to understand, even since I was a kid. Maybe that's why I haven't published that much; yet. I have always felt that there is so much to understand, and I don't like publishing things I don't understand.
