You should always let your mind grow organically.

When we are young, we have a tendency to explore different sides of life that don't have anything to do with each other.
As we get older, we start incorporating economy of effort in the process. Instead of leaping from one area of life to another without thinking twice about their relation, we make sure the new thing grows naturally out of the old one.
Quite simply because it saves energy and makes the journey easier.
Personally, I have done a lot of the former in my eagerness to explore life in all its varieties.
It's my nature, and I wouldn't be true to myself if I didn't try to check out what hides beyond the next curve of the road.
