Beware of the proxy dream.
Living the dream of others is a natural mistake if you don't know your path, but it's a dangerous one to make.
Ten years ago, I made a strategic mistake in my life. I started living someone else's dream.
It was aligned with an old dream I had 13 years before, and I thought I could simply adopt it and make it my own again.
I couldn't. I had changed, but I didn't realize that until later because I always go all-in on things. Once I was in the process of making this particular dream come true, I didn't question it on my behalf.
I probably should have, though, and it taught me a valuable lesson.
